Volunteering at Kisampa
Want to know how you can make a difference at Kisampa?
Kisampa has hosted many people over the years, but the best ones have been the ones that stayed an extended period of time and left their mark when they left. Kisampa would not be where it is now without all the people who contributed their time and effort to help the people, wildlife and environment.
We are always looking for people that are willing to come and spend time at Kisampa; learning about conservation, community, education and wildlife management, or even coming to initiate their own research into some of the many species we have on the conservancy. The Kisampa and Matapwili community are eager to share their knowledge with you, if you are willing to do the same.
Activities you could take part in:
Helping with conservation efforts (setting up camera traps, going on anti poaching patrols, brainstorming new ideas to mitigate human wildlife conflict).
Supporting the local communities (helping at the local primary and secondary schools, building projects in the villages, educating locals about the conservation efforts at Kisampa or coming up with innovative ideas that could help the village).
Maintenance (enjoy the beauty of Kisampa and leave your mark by maintaining the camp infrastructure, roads, river access points and machinery).
Costs:
Kisampa is lucky to not be situated in a national park, meaning we do not have to ask our volunteers to pay park fees. We are determined to make sure that your contribution to Kisampa is measured by the time and effort you invest in the conservancy. However, we can only do so much to lower the costs of your time at Kisampa.
In order to ensure that this works the best for you and the conservancy, we ask a small fee that goes to paying for your food and staff wages, which will be considered a donation to keep Kisampa up and running.
If you have any questions about the possibilities or cost, do not hesitate to email: info@kisampa.com
We look forward to hearing from you!
