Kisampa Bee-Keeping
Kisampa bee-keeping
Goal:
To develop an environmentally friendly business enterprise that supplements community members incomes whilst protecting and utilizing natural habitat sustainably.
The Kisampa Bee-Keeping project strives to generate revenue from beekeeping that benefits both Kisampa and the local communities.
Our vision is to see a community where Tanzanian villagers live with a higher standard of living and exist sustainably in balance with the natural flora and fauna in their environment. The aim is for locals to look at conservation in a manner the benefits both wildlife and human requirements; to create a sanctuary for the pristine vegetation, flora and fauna that currently exist in the project area. The bee project works to empower local communities and facilitate community development, education and training surrounding the process of sustainably using what nature offers them. All this is in order to show locals the value the their environment and the benefits of conserving it.
We are constantly trying to improve hives to suite the local environment and make the entry costs cheaper for community members to become bee-keepers.
